Your 401(k) Is Broken and You Don’t Know It
Video transcript:
I’m going to tell you one of the most frustrating things I see as a financial advisor and it happens all the time.
It’s when someone comes to me with a 401(k) or IRA that was set up years ago and no one has touched it since.
No reviews, no updates.
Sometimes, they’re just invested sitting in cash. Meanwhile, their life has completely changed.
They have a new job or kids, divorce, or retirement is on the horizon, but their investments are stuck in whatever default was chosen on day one.
It makes me so sad and mad because they did the right thing by starting, but no one helped them keep going.
And it’s not their fault. No one ever followed up.
If you haven’t looked at your accounts in a while, please do. Or, let’s look at them together.
You deserve more than a set-it-and-forget-it strategy.
